Family Tee Program

Laconia Country Club officially rolled out its new Family Tee Program for members and their guests in conjunction with its Family Day activities on Saturday June 28, 2014.

The program is intended to enhance the member’s family experience by making the transition into the game of golf easy for new golfers of any age and enable the entire family to enjoy an afternoon of golf together regardless of their experience or skill level. The Pro Shop will be working with the New Hampshire Golf Association (NHGA) to get the Family Tee courses accredited so that players can establish a GHIN and handicap.

The Family Course setup helps young golfers and beginners play from appropriate yardages and enables all members of the family to play faster and not feel rushed which leads to better scores and more fun! Essentially the Family Tee Program shortens the existing course to adapt to beginner or younger golfers resulting in a more time-friendly and affordable golfing experience.

The Family Course also compliments Laconia Country Club’s outstanding Junior Golf teaching program by allowing junior golfers to broaden their overall golf experience by taking the lessons they’ve learned on the practice tee out to the course under real playing conditions.

The Family Tee Program was created through a partnership between the PGA of America and U.S. Kids Golf and has been implemented at over 1000 public and private golf courses in the United States including the prestigious Kiawah Island Golf Resort and the NCR Country Club which have hosted major PGA events.

The rules and other information about the program are posted in the Pro Shop. If you have any questions about the Family Tee Program or our Junior Golf Teaching Program please contact Todd Rollins, PGA Club Professional at 524-1273.
