Laconia Country Club has an incredible history of resilience which has defined its character for nearly a century. Established in 1922, the original nine-hole course offered the general public an excellent golf experience. For decades, the Club and its beautiful Lakes Region location has attracted individuals and families from throughout the Northeast and beyond.
In the 1940s, financial considerations led to a restructuring of the Club and its operations. In the 1960s, a fire destroyed the Clubhouse and it was rebuilt in its current unique footprint. In 1997, Laconia Golf Club, LLC., was formed to transition the Club to a private, member-owned organization responsible for providing, improving, and maintaining golf facilities for its members.
Nestled in the heart of New Hampshire's Lakes Region
The course underwent a total renovation in 2002, positioning it as one of the finest 18-hole golf experiences in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Reimagined by Wogan & Sargent, LLC., a premiere golf architecture firm in the Northeast, the championship layout 6,813-yard, par 72 course honors the inherent beauty and intent of the original design while ensuring playability at all levels. In the renovation, forced carries and precise targets were avoided, instead opting for challenge built in through purposeful placement of fairway bunkers, thoughtful approaches, and the occasional water feature.
The course is carved out of the natural surroundings and makes abundant use of all available flora, hills, and swales to create one of the most unforgettable golf courses in New Hampshire. Four sets of tees make the spectacular layout playable for golfers of all ages and abilities. Among the grand stands of mature trees, natural wetlands, and all too inviting bunkers, the varied terrain ensures that shot selection is never repetitive.
Golf for the entire family
In 2014, Laconia Country Club proudly introduced its Family Tee Program for members and their guests. The program encourages young players and beginners of all ages to take to the “Family Course” with confidence and enthusiasm. Playing from appropriate yardages enables all family members to enjoy a comfortable pace and not feel rushed--which leads to better scores and more fun!
The Family Course also complements Laconia Country Club’s outstanding Junior Golf teaching program. Junior golfers will broaden their overall golf experience by bringing the lessons they’ve learned on the practice tee onto the course under real playing conditions. And, our Pro Shop has worked with the New Hampshire Golf Association (NHGA) so that Family Tee players can establish a GHIN and handicap.
Member leagues and tournaments are held throughout the season, offering players friendly competition for coveted Club recognition. Looking to strengthen your game? The professional golf staff offers instruction for members and guests; group and non-member lessons are also available.

Laconia Country Club has been host to multiple New Hampshire Amateur Golf Championships
(first hosting in 1930), a USGA Women’s Mid-Am Qualifier (and will host again in 2020), and has attracted notable players--from golf legends to film and television stars--throughout its history.
